Hello, I’m Marika, and I invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with yourself through yoga.
As an Italian-born yoga teacher with international experience, I have had the opportunity to teach and learn in many different places around the world. My passion lies in the quieter, more introspective styles of yoga – Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and slow, mindful flows. These practices allow us to cultivate stillness, release tension, and find inner balance.
I continuously deepen my knowledge through regular trainings and workshops, always seeking to refine my understanding and bring new insights into my classes. My teaching is gentle, meditative, and deeply restorative, creating a space where you can truly let go.
All my classes are taught in English, and I warmly welcome yogis of all backgrounds and levels. Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, I would love to guide you on a journey of relaxation and self-discovery.
I look forward to sharing this practice with you!
What are you particularly good at?
Marika: I have…
I’m practising yoga for over 15 years and I took my YTT in 2018 in India, with a focus on traditional hatha and modules on different styles among which Yin yoga. This style really resonated with me and my needs. I needed to slow down my restless nature, going inward to calm my mind and be still for a few minutes. Since then I started to explore this passive and meditative style and took further training, attended seminars and workshops with international teachers such as Sarah Powers, Norman Blair, Travis Elliot, Jo Phee, Sarah Lo and Paul Grilley. Recently I have just completed a Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) training according to Satyananda teachings where I learned how our brains work and how to conduce people in a deep state of relaxation through a structured guided meditation. Moreover, I am a practitioner of ashtanga vinyasa yoga and besides the trainings I have, my greatest teacher is my daily practice.
What does be yogi mean for me?
Marika: I feel…
I have been attending yoga classes as a student at be yogi for almost a year and felt immediately at ease and welcomed there. Now that I’m also teaching, I could really prove that be yogi is an unpretentious and inclusive yoga studio that can help you to reconnect with yourself, other people and the world around you.
What do you do at be yogi?
Marika: I can…
I offer mainly yin yoga and slow flow classes. Soon there will be a new class, yoga nidra, to experience deep relaxation through a guided meditation combined with breathwork and visualizations.
What moves your heart?
Marika: I love…
… sharing with people my passion for yoga and try to help them feel its benefits, not just on the body but also on the mind and spirit. Being a yoga practitioner for over a decade, I know how yoga can improve our hectic lives.
What is your favourite mantra?
Marika: I speak..
… SO HUM (I am that) to remind ourselves of your connection to everything around us. This can be used any time to recalibrate, no matter where you are.
What is your wish for the Shala-la?
Marika: I see…
I wish be yogi to remain a place of inclusiveness with a team of skilled teachers whose main strength is diversity and creativity.
What else would you like to tell the world?
Marika: I know…
We need more compassion and less greediness in the world. Love is the answer.
What is still missing?
Marika: Human connection and a greater sense of community.
